Stacklight Terms of Use
Effective: 18 June 2026 · Last updated: 18 June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Stacklight (“the app”), the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch application available on the Apple App Store. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What Stacklight is
Stacklight is a status dashboard and remote-management client for self-hosted services running on infrastructure that you own and operate. It connects directly to the services you configure, using URLs and credentials that you provide, and communicates with each service through that service’s own published API. Stacklight has no backend server of its own. Your credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device, and your service configuration syncs through your own iCloud account.
2. What Stacklight is not
Stacklight does not host, store, search for, index, discover, download, convert, stream, or distribute any audio, video, or other media or content. It provides no content sources, no trackers, no indexers, and no search of third-party catalogs. For services that manage downloads or media (for example download clients or media-library managers), Stacklight displays status information and, where supported, offers basic controls such as pause and resume of tasks that you have already initiated on your own server. Stacklight does not itself acquire, transfer, or share any files.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use Stacklight only with services that you own, operate, or are otherwise legally authorized to access, and only in compliance with all applicable laws and with the terms of the services you connect to. You are solely responsible for the services you run, for the content on those services, and for ensuring that your use of those services and of Stacklight is lawful. You agree not to use Stacklight to infringe the intellectual-property rights of others or to facilitate any unlawful sharing or distribution of content.
4. Your responsibility for your services
Stacklight is a client that connects to software you have installed and configured yourself. It does not control, operate, or take responsibility for those services, their content, their availability, or their behavior. The relationship between you and any third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms.
5. In-app purchases
Stacklight offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase (“Stacklight Pro”) that removes the free-tier limit on the number of services. There is no subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms. Family Sharing is enabled. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies.
6. No warranty
Stacklight is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate in every reading it displays from your services.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Stacklight shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Because Stacklight can trigger actions on your own services (for example pausing a task or restarting a container), you are responsible for the consequences of the actions you take through the app.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
